The seasons are very obvious up in the mountains, and we appreciate the
beauty of each one. It's part of what pulls us over the hills so often.
Summer is warm and dry. The trees are green, the sky is blue,
and the ground is covered in brown needles fallen from the Ponderosa pines.

Fall brings a blaze of red, yellow and orange. The air is crisp and
smells wonderful.

Once the vine maples pass their prime, the golden hues of aspen and willow
dominate.

Winter is white.

Sometimes it is very cold, and sometimes warm enough to make awesome icicles
on the roof.

With spring, the snow is gone. Leaves come back to the trees and the
parade of flowers begins.

And with the flowers come mushrooms. These are morels, and they are
delicious! We found them right in our backyard...
